Thanks and Updates 0

First and foremost I would just like to say Thank You to everyone who has visited here and posted comments, 360-Entertainment has been around for just under a month now, and already had over 4,000 unique hits, which personally I think is pretty good for a site in a niche as this, with so many other top class sites out there, I’m so happy with the initial response people have had to this site.

4,000 Unique, Not Too Shabby!

So, now, probably at the worst time for this site, I’m off on holiday for a week. With no internet and no one to keep you guys updated, that means there will be no more posts for a week, but most probably shit loads when I get back (have to get back up to date havnt I!)

One more thing, a HUMUNGOUS! thanks to people who are clicking the advertising links, these really do help me in paying to keep the webspace and any additional things for the site, so thanks for this.

So that’s about it, I’m off the catch a tan and relax! :)

Diablo III Announced 0

494x_diablo3woot Diablo III Announced

Blizzard have officially announced the next installment of Diablo. Rumors have been flying around with the whole ’splash page’ what is it question, but most guessed correct at it being for Diablo III. Blizzard announced it at the 2008 Worldwide International:

Mike Morhaime told the audience at the opening ceremonies that they had a special announcement to make, the lights dimmed, and a guitar player took the stage, playing the unmistakable opening strains of the Diablo overworld theme. A trailer played, and Jay Wilson, lead designer of the game took the stage…to demo the game.

Kotaku have a reporter there keeping everyone informed of whats going on, a few posts have already been put live and you can see them here:

Quake III + The Simpsons = Awesomness! 0

Damn, it’s not only the house. It’s the whole street, Bar included. Would be overly great if it included the school, but considering it’s not in the vid, I’d guess it’s not, so we will just have to say that it’s ordinarily great. Mod’s for old games aren’t generally that well publicised, but one this great deserves all the attention it gets.

The Samsung 360 TV? 0

xbox 360

I’ll be honest, this looks so fake. BUT, considering it’s news, it get a mention….

According to the tipster, the television would be the “first on market” to integrate Xbox 360 hardware when it shipped this November in the United States and Europe. The TV was purported to include four USB ports, 512 MB of hard drive space(?) and a “ring of light” style power button. It even came with a model number (XS40R360A) for maximum believability.

You never know.

‘Ratings plan will cause delays to UK Release Dates’ 0

600px-bbfc_18_2002 Ratings plan will cause delays to UK Release Dates

How f*cking ridiculous.

“Every time you add a new standard, game developers have to guess what the censors are looking for. If there’s more than one standard in the UK, and across Europe, that can only equal delays in getting games to market and into the hands of British players.”

Too true. Considering we brits seem to get most games later than everyone else anyway, anymore delays is just plain annoying. Why oh Why do the posh tw@t’s in parliament always want to do their own thing. Just accept the game rating and get on with things, is there nothing really that important In Parliament so they have to go on about the ratings?!

Playstation Firmware 2.4 To Be Released At E3 0

playstation-firmware-240 Playstation Firmware 2.4 To Be Released At E3

CVG has got it’s “grubby hands” on full list of features coming with Firmware 2.40 release for the PS3 including information that it is to be released around E3. CVG Sources say that it will be released in 3 weeks, and when is E3? 3 weeks. They also make a good point that making it available at the same time as announcing it, does seem to be the way things are getting it done these days. Apple are a perfect example with Steve Jobs usually saying “…and this is available today!” which is then greeted by a chorus of “yeah!”, “woo!”, “c’mon!”.

Hit the jump for the full list of features…

Guitar Hero for The Blind? 0

guitar-hero Guitar Hero for The Blind? If you can put up with this guy’s overly aggrovating voice, then it’s pretty good video. Eelke Folmer, an assistant professor at the University of Nevada seems to be doing some amazing work on games for the ‘blind community’. Only important part for this news is 0:46 to 3:10, one comment he makes is that to make this available to everyone, I’m not sure if he says the glove is $15 Million, or $50 Million, either way, that’s not really ‘general public’.

I’ll warn you now, after 3:10, this video gets pretty f*cking weird. It shouldnt even be allowed to be put online imo.

Call of Duty 5, Bloody Nasty 0

call-of-duty-51 Call of Duty 5, Bloody Nasty

“Spit to the face later, the officer puts his lit cigarette out on the face of this bound soldier and uses a knife to put a particularly bloody end to his suffering.”

This is Treyarch being dark. Reeeeeal dark. We already have a few details, but we are not entirely clued up on Call of Duty 5, actually named Call of Duty: World at War is gonna have it tough, mainly becuase they are starting on the back foot. Their less than impressive take of COD3 has fans of the franchise doubting this game, already. Not often is a game given such a bad time before it even is released so you kinda have to feel sorry for Treyarch, I do hope they smash this one out of the park and show how great a game they can produce with long enough time.

But anyways, GameSpot have a decent first look at COD5,

The first example of this is after your group has trekked through the dark jungle, past a collection of dead bodies. But in actuality, these Japanese soldiers are only pretending to be dead; they quickly pop up and attack your squad from behind. Another example of this take-no-prisoners tactical style in the first level includes Japanese snipers intentionally wounding a soldier so others come rushing to his aid, then taking out the group while they’re distracted.

Smart, very smart. But whether these are pre-selected scenes, or actual gameplay is yet to be determined, I do hope they happen as part of the gameplay, not just cut-scenes.
