Some more detials have been released for Treyarch’s up and coming Call of Duty 5 game, called World at War. First and foremost, and most already knew this, but COD5 is going to be using the same engine that COD4 used, adding on their own little flair including the ability to burn down buildings. That will make a nice little twist if someone was hiding in a barn, just set light to it and see it go up in flames, with enemy inside. Mainly set in the pacific, the majority of the game will consist of the US forces fighting Japanese opposition, and with the usual Russians vs Germans, so expect snow and alot of shouting. Another new feature is called the ‘party system’ which allows you to issue orders to your team in single player, most probably in a similar fashion to the system used in Rainbow Six.
So Perks are back, including favourites from COD4, and kicking out the un-popular ones, hopefully martydom is kicked. The addition of the flamethrower comes into play for burning buildings and melting the skin off your enemies.
Luckily this time around they have had 2 years to work on this installment, whereas with COD3 they only had 11 months and now they have specific teams working on the different platforms.
