Call of Duty 5 Co-Op Gameplay

Ambush’s, Flame-throwers and annoying voice acting, what more could you want from a trailer? Call of Duty 5 (World at War for those who want to be ‘proper’) is shaping up to be quite interesting - if played on mute. Is it me or do the sound’s just get annoying?

Call of Duty: World At War - Preview…Again 0

picture-2 Call of Duty: World At War - Preview...Again

Call of Duty: World At War, probably one of the games with the biggest controversy around it in terms of how it will come out. Either way, good or bad, it will probably shift off the shelves really well, generally down to it’s title. Whether it will be good enough to get people to shout it’s names from cliff tops as COD:4 is doing, is another story.

So, IGN have a preview of COD: World At War,

Staying low, the two spot some German soldiers. Using the bombers flying overhead as sound cover, the player started taking out the Nazis milling about. It only goes well for so long, though, as the two sniper move into some dilapidated buildings. Soon the cover is blown. At this point, all hell breaks loose. Explosions, gunfire and buildings collapsing under the raging fires of war filled the screen while the two sprinted through the buildings, trying to keep a wall a between them and the Germans. Just as the chaos peaked, Treyarch chose to end the demo.

Call of Duty 5, Bloody Nasty 0

“Spit to the face later, the officer puts his lit cigarette out on the face of this bound soldier and uses a knife to put a particularly bloody end to his suffering.”

This is Treyarch being dark. Reeeeeal dark. We already have a few details, but we are not entirely clued up on Call of Duty 5, actually named Call of Duty: World at War is gonna have it tough, mainly becuase they are starting on the back foot. Their less than impressive take of COD3 has fans of the franchise doubting this game, already. Not often is a game given such a bad time before it even is released so you kinda have to feel sorry for Treyarch, I do hope they smash this one out of the park and show how great a game they can produce with long enough time.

But anyways, GameSpot have a decent first look at COD5,

The first example of this is after your group has trekked through the dark jungle, past a collection of dead bodies. But in actuality, these Japanese soldiers are only pretending to be dead; they quickly pop up and attack your squad from behind. Another example of this take-no-prisoners tactical style in the first level includes Japanese snipers intentionally wounding a soldier so others come rushing to his aid, then taking out the group while they’re distracted.

Smart, very smart. But whether these are pre-selected scenes, or actual gameplay is yet to be determined, I do hope they happen as part of the gameplay, not just cut-scenes.

Call of Duty 5 Details 1

call-of-duty-5 Call of Duty 5 Details

Some more detials have been released for Treyarch’s up and coming Call of Duty 5 game, called World at War. First and foremost, and most already knew this, but COD5 is going to be using the same engine that COD4 used, adding on their own little flair including the ability to burn down buildings. That will make a nice little twist if someone was hiding in a barn, just set light to it and see it go up in flames, with enemy inside. Mainly set in the pacific, the majority of the game will consist of the US forces fighting Japanese opposition, and with the usual Russians vs Germans, so expect snow and alot of shouting. Another new feature is called the ‘party system’ which allows you to issue orders to your team in single player, most probably in a similar fashion to the system used in Rainbow Six.

So Perks are back, including favourites from COD4, and kicking out the un-popular ones, hopefully martydom is kicked. The addition of the flamethrower comes into play for burning buildings and melting the skin off your enemies.

Luckily this time around they have had 2 years to work on this installment, whereas with COD3 they only had 11 months and now they have specific teams working on the different platforms.

Well, that is all I can say really.

Honestly, It’s not really a story, more of a “TV Guide Planner” kind of event.

“Considering the incredible reception our hardcore gamer audience has given the GT Diamond Award-winning Call of Duty franchise, we are confident that they’ll go crazy for this never-before-seen footage from Call of Duty: World at War,” said Geoff Keighley, host of GTTV. “We are thrilled that Activision turned to GTTV to unveil this exclusive, reinforcing GameTrailers’ tradition of bringing fans the best quality and most sought-after content.”

Honestly, this is all down to Kotaku.

Xbox Fan Boy seems to have a great source atm, getting so many leaks, so that just means more news for the rest of us!

Above is the rumored selection of box art for the upcoming Call of Duty game, named Call of Duty: World at War. Notice that it is not COD 5: World at War, seems they have dropped the ‘5′, suppose they have to, otherwise at the rate they are going it’s soon going to be COD 13: Hitler’s Demise.
